B&B Rooms
The newest generation of Pellizzaris has lovingly restored the Bed and Breakfast Palazzo Malaspina with great attention to every detail to preserve the characteristic elegance of this fine historic residence. Maria Pellizzari herself welcomes you to her bed and breakfast rooms with a free bottle of Chianti wine for you!
Palazzo Malaspina, your B&B in Tuscany, tells a story: a story of the Middle Ages and the small hamlet of San Donato in Poggio with its narrow roads and city walls; a story of the Renaissance with its architectural layout that invites the world in through a majestic main gate on via del Giglio, the main road of this Florentine town.
Our guests personally live and breathe this atmosphere and this history as soon as they cross the large threshold of this historical dwelling, which has been enriched by a Renaissance handbasin embellished with a sixteenth-century coat of arms. Together, they tell the story of the lives of the noble family called Quaratesi.
Upon entry, eyes are naturally drawn upwards towards the impressive staircase that takes guests to the first floor of this bed and breakfast in the Chianti countryside, set between Florence and Siena, and where a magnificent reception room with wonderful windows and high ceilings offers a peaceful setting where breakfast made up of home-made Tuscan delicacies is served. Here guests can also admire a very large tempera painting dating back to the 15th century from the school of Luca Signorelli, which depicts Saint Bernardino from Siena. This alone is worth the stay at our B&B.
To the right is a corridor that, due to its structure, reminds guests of the much more famous Vasari Corridor in nearby Florence. Amongst paintings and other pieces of history, this corridor leads to the 5 rooms, each with a private bathroom, which I created, furnished, and embellished with antique furniture and refined fabrics to transmit that sense of warmth, of family, and of embracement that every guest must perceive to feel at home.
Everything here talks of Tuscany: from the chromatic magic of the rooms to the fragrance of freshly made cakes, from the color and taste of the bottle of Classic Chianti, which will welcome you to your room, to the admirable sight of the Gallo Nero Classic Chianti hillsides, the vineyards rich with their precious nectar, and the vast expanse of olive groves generously ready to give their best olive oil, which is among the most prestigious in the world.
THE ROOMS OF PALAZZO MALASPINA B&B IN TUSCANY
The rooms of Palazzo Malaspina, your B&B between Florence and Siena, are of three different types: deluxe queen double rooms with balconies; king rooms with jacuzzis and garden views; and king rooms with jacuzzis and a view of the square of this medieval hamlet. Each room is dedicated to a member of my family who, together with myself, have made its history: my mother Giuseppina, my grandmother Maria, my aunt Clara, and my great aunt Vittoria. An ancestral string of women who, like myself, have lived, loved, and enriched the house that I today call home.
